To be forearmed is forewarned. Remember, it is too late after the event.
This volume is privately researched and specifically focuses on The Australian Automotive Insurance sector. The focus examines insurance conduct and its impact on consumers, and the smash repair industry.
This much anticipated, collective work exposes automotive tricks, traps and predatory practices and aims to identify gaps and traps which consumers fall prey to. In my book I share knowledge from industry leaders and the smash repair industry. A must-have handbook for any consumer.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Graham was borne in Melbourne Victoria in 1942. An interest in automobiles saw him enter the smash repair industry and the proprietor of a small smash repair business by the early 60s.
By 1968 he found himself in Auckland New Zealand and with two others built Auckland’s largest smash repair, towing service and wrecking yard complex. These were the days before drink driving legislation. Forty smash tows on a weekend was a common occurrence.
Back in Adelaide by the 1980s the advent of costs associated with plastic bumper accident replacement was high. Graham researched and developed a plastic repair strategy and opened a factory in Adelaide. Back then, the first of its type in Australia.
By the mid-eighties, together with Adelaide, repair facilities were established in Hobart Tasmania and the ‘Gabba’ in Queensland. Automotive Plastic welding was in its infancy so Graham wrote and published The Plastics Fix, a repair training manual for the smash repair industry.
The publication was hard cover, A4 format, with some 340 colour plates within 230 pages that depicted examples of plastic welding, repair, bonding and painting of automotive plastic componentry.
As a registered training provider training curriculum resources were written in conjunction with The Plastics Fix training manual. A two day training course was delivered in-house to some 200 Smash Repair businesses and TAFE Colleges throughout Australia.
That led to an academic pursuit, a Bachelor degree in Adult and Vocational Education, with an Honours dissertation: Automotive Plastic Entering Landfill and a Strategy for Reduction, followed by a Doctoral theses: A Historical Overview of the Collision Repair Industry in Australia and Transfers of power Through Rationalisation.
After several years as an assessor specialising in third party claims, and with retirement approaching, a lifetime of work experience within the smash repair industry has called for the assembly of a chronicle detailing automotive insurance practices in one volume, as a ready reference for the smash repair industry and the public at large.
